Welcome to my latest exercise in an attempt to reach my goal of being a prolific writer in 2022. So, in addition to writing 1 short story each week ( Because Ray Bradbury said you can’t write 52 bad ones – challenge accepted!) I will be attempting to post an original poem each day in April. This is not going to be easy – I’ve not really written poetry since college. So, these will be thrown together each day and not very edited.

Enough

The hardest word — Enough
I am enough
I do enough
I have enough
The hardest word to hear –Enough
when the air around is filled with words
Be more
Do more
Get more

Be more
Because just being is not cool
Do more
And perfectionism doubles the to-do list
Get more

More more more
drowns out the small voice of enough
I am enough
Rest is not a reward
I have enough

But is it a still small voice?
or just More with a different volume–
“My book will show you that you are enough
And here is a preorder gift…”

And who am I to ponder enough versus more
When tyranny is talking all from those who once had enough
and now have nothing.
and Being is Enough
Because being has to be enough when it is all.
