It was a pseudo exciting day around my house. Our county has decided that when there are open appointments for Covid-19 vaccines not claimed by those in the “included categories,” they will open the free times up to those 18 and up. Which means both of my sons would be able to sign up for appointments. As a university staff member who really can’t afford to be quarantined or isolated (both sons are in the non-medical but still essential services areas), this would be optimal. Also, my father-in-law, who is not young, has some health issues that mean we should visit, and having vaccinations would make that so much safer; I hope they can get appointments soon.

And I know I am not alone with these hopes. For the past year, at least in my state, there have been both fears of the virus and condemnation for those who treat the virus with respect. It’s a hard line to walk. Do you listen to science or your neighbors? Also, with the past administration, the CDC has been a bit, shall we say, dicey, the past year? I am so hoping science will again reign supreme.

I know you have no reason to listen to me. But look at the science. Get the vaccination if you can. At least it will stop you from dying. And as long as you are not dying, you can read my blog!
