Trying to get back into near-daily posting again.
It’s raining outside my window, and the sound of the rain can be so relaxing. Water moving, in general, is comforting, which is why people have fountains and aquariums, I suppose. We were able to get away some this week and took some time to stand in the Gulf of Mexico. Not nearly enough time, as we only stood in the water, but the white caps were such that boogie boarding would have been fun. My inner otter was a bit disappointed.
One of my favorite books in fourth grade was Miss Osborn the Mop by Wilson Gage. It’s the story of a girl who is forced to stay with her aunt (if I remember correctly) and cousin at the beach all summer. (poor thing, right?) They somehow turn a mop into a representation of one of her teachers, and the mop is rather like the brooms in the sorcerer’s apprentice. Unfortunately, I do not remember it correctly, but it appears to be available at the university library, so I will have a full book review on Friday.
Now back to reading The Bestseller by Olivia Goldsmith.
