It’s morning again
i can tell because the sun is growing bigger
hotter
and I am drooping as much
as the unwatered pothos in the window

Is it normal to be this hot
so early in the day?
Some say yes, sometimes
wanting to say that the climate isn’t really changing
that it is all just perception

But I have never perceived so many
fires
floods
hurricanes
tornadoes
Or is it that I didn’t notice
if it didn’t happen to me?
Even if the climate isn’t changing
(spoiler — it is)
I can only hope that I am changing
to meet the challenge ahead.
