Short answer: Yes
Long answer:
I tend to wallow in darkness
like a sow in her favorite mud bath
It soothes and cools and has the side effect
of keeping others at distance.
While wallowing in the
ever-lengthening night
a glance out the window reveals
soft orange diffusing behind shadowy trees.
(as if a giant artist dropped the pigment
on to a wet page and let color infuse
until it reached the edges)
The light shoving away the dark
with such quiet strength
No wonder the trees, the grass reach up
hoping to touch the power.
No wonder the birds sing
greeting the daily
surprise of sunrise.
